Testimonials & Portfolio

I know as authors we all worry that editing is going to feel like being ripped to shreds by wild hyenas, but working with Midnight Markups doesn't feel that way.

Carmen goes above and beyond to make sure your voice is preserved and your intent comes through. They are very open and communicative and found a lot of errors I was "totally sure I fixed already" (LOL)

If you are looking for someone genuinely kind and well-informed to help make your story the best it can be, I highly suggest trying a sample edit to see if you hit it off. That's what I did!

I was also able to work with her to get the manuscript properly formatted, and that was both fun and painless as well.

Carmen was a delight to work with––timely, encouraging, and dedicated to doing an amazing job. The proofreading was top notch and I really appreciated the level of care and attention to detail.

Midnight Markups is incredibly attentive, detail-oriented, and truly cares about the quality of her work. Every time I’ve worked with her, she’s gone above and beyond—not just catching small errors, but really understanding the tone, voice, and intention behind the writing. Her feedback is always thoughtful, clear, and actually helps elevate the work instead of just correcting it.

I’ve worked with quite a few editors, and Midnight Markups stands out by far. Very professional, reliable, and genuinely passionate about what she does, which makes the whole process feel smooth and collaborative. I always feel confident knowing my work is in their hands.

Honestly, Midnight Markups is my favorite editor and formatter I’ve worked with… but let’s just keep that between us 😉

They get into the story and understand the characters, their eye for consistency double checks is also heavenly for people with not so great memory! I'd 100% recommend her to anyone who crosses my path ❤️
